[Heart, well, she has been trying to do her best for the users since this tragedy started. That would mean anyone who has been paying any attention to her as probably seen that she's not eaten anything since this started. Nor drank anything; best to leave supplies for the people that need it after all. Or at least, programing dictates that she ought to as best she can figure out - really there isn't much she's programmed to do in a situation like this. She's not a disaster response robot or anything.

Thus, she's taken to wandering around the town, looking to see if there's anything she can help with over the last few days. However, today, she's come across something- odd. In glancing over the southernmost bridge in the village into the water she looks at her reflection and sees... Well, she's initially confused as to what it is but then the realization hits her that it's her.

Reflected in the water isn't her as she is now, but a reflection of something that should be impossible: a red haired and green little girl, two years old at best, smiling in the reflection back at her own impassive face. Heart isn't sure if she should be surprised or not so she just keeps staring and even does some experimental movement to see if the young phantom moves with her. When it does she keeps this up to see if it continues... and it does.

Now, anyone care to run across her while this happens? Or perhaps after as she sets into the river, despite the oddness of that, to see if there's any sort of projector in there]

A little girl, actually.

[That little smile returns to glance back at him] I hadn't seen her before.

... uh huh. A little girl. [The skepticism is all over his face.] And what did she look like?

Her hair was a similar color to mine - I actually thought she might be me for a moment. [She laughs, just a little at her own expense as she runs a finger through her bangs to get one stray one out of his eyes]

She had a darling face.

You know, maybe it was you. [Because who else could it be? Jeez.]

Yeah, I could just be being silly, couldn't I?

Yeah, probably. [He glances back at his own reflection. For a second, it seems like there's something odd about it, but a few ripples caused by the tumbling rocks from him shifting his position distorts the image. He shakes his head to clear his head. That was weird.]

[...Heart puts a look of concern on her face briefly, but decides not to press it for now. Instead, she takes a step back from Sokka, keeping eye contact or something close to it]

Would you mind if I asked what you're up to?

Huh? [He glances at her confused, then realizes she didn't mean currently.]

I was going to check on the smithy. I haven't been there since the quake.

[She nods at that.] I hope it wasn't damaged too badly.

It's a complete wreck. It's still standing at least, but all of our machinery is probably broke.

If it's that bad won't it be dangerous to go in alone?

I'll probably be fine. [From the guy who doesn't believe in umbrellas.]

[...This actually prompts her to put her hands on her hips. this looks similar to a motion Katara does a lot, but is probably different by the fact Heart is notably taller than Katara]

Probably isn't very convincing with things as they are, Sokka.

[And... that just gets a startled blink from Sokka, because that's way too familiar. Oddly enough, it's also effective, because he's rather conditioned to give in when that tone and pose is used on him.]

... uh, right. Okay. Should I get someone?

How about one of the other people whom you work with there. They might want to help out, right?

[And thus he tone relaxes into something more calm... and helpful]

... now's not the best time for them. [One just lost a housemate and well, this isn't the kind of thing he wants Winry involved in anyway.]

[Hm. Well that's no good. She'd do it herself but she doesn't want to butt into what ought to be a special sort of time for him. Thus she frowns lightly before...]

[...Well-] Do you have any other friends that might want to help you with this?

[He considers it for all of one second.]

It's not that big of a deal. There's no reason to bother my friends for it. [So he starts to head in that direction.]

[That makes her frown again but with a little sigh and a shake of her head she decides to let him go. She's got other things on her mind now anyway. ...Which is odd, an alien feeling for her]

Please be careful then.

[Wow, he really expected her to follow him. Weird.]

Of course. Seeya later, Heart. Good luck with... the river, I guess.
