[When Heart isn't busy doing other things such as stalking doting on Lilly or breaking into Red's house or whatever, he preferred hang-out spot has become Kat's Kradle, mostly so that she can oogle be around the very handsome... manager. She's too shy to actually strike up conversation, of course. But... Um. She should do something to repay how often she comes here, right?

Like right now, she's sitting in here with coffee but looking otherwise awkward. Ever since she came here with Kiyo, that is. ...Um. Thinking about Kiyo gives her some of mode 4's balls, and thus she opens her journal and pens in the following:]

Does anyone know a gift which is appropriate good pre- thank you gift for a hand- nic- helpful olde- gentleman?

[She sighs. That was hard. She looks at her coffee after she finishes writing that, somewhat flustered in spite of herself. Anyone is free to respond to that or run into her in KK, of course. Users or non-users. There is a chance you might end up on someone else's file though I want more people like that sob]

[It takes her a moment to answer.] What does 4 mean?

[There's a pause before... back in the playful script-] I don't know. There's six modes that people can select, but I just run the protocols for them, I don't personally know the definition of all of them.

[It's not her fault--or, at least, this is what Buffy insists upon telling herself. Like April, or the Buffybot, Heart is a victim of the twisted people who created her. This is how she wants to view the situation. It's how she copes with actually kinda having friendly feelings about a robot.]

How many people have selected modes?

[identity profile] sixwayheart.livejournal.com 2010-05-07 03:13 am (UTC)(link)
Only you, of course [That's written with the same more mechanical note as before... but then there's a distinct pause before Heart processes. Her programming isn't meant to accept this but she knows cognitively that there are more people on file: he hard-drive is much larger than it was designed to be in the specs she has in her "brain"... thus in the more cheery writing-] Wait, no~ No, that's not right, sorry. Currently, there are eighteen on file. Afraid I can't say who or what though, that would be spoilers, you know? ♥

Do any of the rest know?

[She scribbles out that question and sits back, staring hard at the journal. It isn't fair. It keeps not being fair. Even as she writes the cool, unemotional questions in an officious script, Buffy knows that she isn't giving Heart due care. She had seemed so vibrant on the day they first met--by comparison, April and (especially) the Buffybot were so obviously robots. They way they spoke and acted. Whoever had made Heart had put a great deal more effort into it. It helps that they probably were not college age evil delinquents.

It takes her a moment, but she gently tacks on in a softer hand:]
I think I don't mind, Heart--or, I think I can be okay with it.

[Heart, however, as a photographic memory. No, they aren't. But she also doesn't see a problem with it. After all, she just is what she is, right? She smiles a bit when Buff says that-] Well I sure hoped that was going to be the case, Sarge. I was looking forward to some more lessons courtesy of my pal Buffy and I wouldn't have wanted some smell to get in the way of things. Guess I might need to invest in some blood packets next time.

The lack of real blood was probably a good thing, in that instance. Spike'd find you less tasty. And that is definitely of the good.

[The return of the Sarge nickname warms her back up to the conversation. Buffy decides she is going to give the girl the benefit of the doubt.] You should pop into Good Spirits sometime, on a quiet night. It'd be nice to talk about this.

Does tonight count for a quiet one? After all, not quite night yet so it could be a regular rock concert without me knowing.

Tonight definitely counts. [Pause.] And if they get rowdy? I'll just glare at them until they shut up. It's been mostly pretty effective, so far.

You tell them, Buff. You might not have the height but when it comes to the glare and the fierce? Gotta say, you're the queen of it if that bit with the vampire was any indication.

Spike's a special case. But--yeah, not all of us can be giants. And when we're not, we gotta compensate somehow.

Guess I just got lucky on the production line. [there's a little squiggle here before-] Course, that might be cheating seeing as how you needed to play the genetic raffle to determine what became of you.

[identity profile] sixwayheart.livejournal.com 2010-05-10 09:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Nothing special, really. Nothing like what you see in movies and such, I'm afraid. No chainsaws in these arms.

So...do you have to plug into the wall at night?

[These questions are actually easier to ask by writing them down. For once, Buffy's thankful for not voicing her words.]

I've got an internal battery which can last for, oh... a good ten years, even if I didn't recharge. [She pauses and the squiggles] I don't know all the specifics though.

[There's a long pause. Wow, that's a long time.] Built to last, huh?

[Written // Filtered]

[identity profile] sixwayheart.livejournal.com 2010-05-14 12:08 am (UTC)(link)
It's recommended that I am recharged eternally before that, personality errors and memory-loss can result if left unattended for a while. [That was more mechanical before she laughs a bit and then the writing becomes more playful-]

But I'm supposed to simulate humanity, Buff. I can't do that if I've got a port in my tush or something.
herotypical: (snark >> i bet you say that before you b)

[personal profile] herotypical 2010-05-14 11:50 am (UTC)(link)
[One sec while she copes with the prospect of having a port in the tush. That just brings back more bad associations and her answer is particularly strained.]

No one's been here as much as ten years--you'll get home in time for your next juice up.

[identity profile] sixwayheart.livejournal.com 2010-05-14 07:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, no, Buff when I said that I mean in ten years my battery ought to have melted down, that's the recommended time to throw me out or replace my main processes. [Basically, kill her.]

You're only meant to last ten years? [Buffy hesitates, skipping a line to scribble a question in.]

How old are you now?
