[Action]

[Heart's awakening in Luceti happened sometime around noon today. She woke up behind on of the buildings near the square, and upon awakening the relatively tall robot girl found herself rather... perplexed. For one, she distinctly recalled being told they were going to deactivate her and she clearly was not deactivated if she felt responsive now. For two, there was something off with her outer frame; it had been changed. Two extra appendages on her back...

Hmm.

Either way, the change in her clothing or setting didn't alarm her that much. While this certainly was not the Mansion, nor the facility where he earliest tests have been done, she was used to being awoken after a shut down in strange places by now. This white sundress was even a little cute. Thus, with a slight smile on her face, she began her observation of the square, curious about it.

When she noticed that everyone else here also had these strange appendages on their backs - wings - she was confused at first, but then eventually concluded the simplest answer: humanity must have changed since she was last shut down. Thus, as she sat down on a bench in the square, she began to go through the motions - though she had no control over it, it was merely her systems compensating for this new observation as well as her own physical changes - to rewrite her internal definition of human to include the wings.

Give her a good half hour to do that and she's back on her feet! This girl would have been completely unresponsive during that half hour, so maybe you saw her then. Maybe you saw her now! Point is, she's snooping around the square but not talking to anyone while in a new feather outfit. Plus, well, she can't talk to anyone until spoken too. Please do feel free to run into her.]

Besides the monthly events and the shiny new war? Hmm. [Buffy drops her flip attitude for a moment, considering the girl.]

People...come and go, when you least expect it. Keep yourself prepared for that and you should do just fine.

[Projecting.]

That sounds- [Um.] rough. [That's the right word, right? Yeah... it seems like it. She sighs and then nods] Don't think I know how you'd prepare for something like that, but I hear you.

Some folks'd say you prepare by not getting close. [She exhales, shaking her head.] But that doesn't exactly feel right, y'know?

Yeah, I don't think so either. Better to have loved then lost and all that, y'know?

Exactly. [So after a second of hesitation, she smiles.] So, clothes and journal--what's left? Food, maybe? Hungry?

Hey, if you're treating- [A joke, obviously-] I'm game for anything~

Seventh Heaven it is, then. Coffee and a...what? Slice of cake? Bagel? Who knows.

[Walking once again.]

I'll take cake over a bagel any day, but I wouldn't want to put too much stress on you Buff. [A pause and then - she can't help it, Buffy is just so much shorter than her-] But you might wanna watch the coffee, I hear caffeine can stunt growth.

[Teasing-]

[Epic pout action, right here.] Hey. Watch it, or I'll doom you to eternal bageldom and then we'll see who's laughing.

[But it gives away to a smile and Buffy nods, contented.] Cake sounds like the bestest of best ideas, right now. So cake it is.

Awesome. I'll even give you one of my three secrets to good growth as repayment. [She giggles and then shrugs before putting on a mock-apologetic tone:] But no, no. You look cuter this way, Buff. You're fun sized, you know?

[She'll see your mock-apology and raise you one mock-indignation.]

Hey, now. Be gentle with the feelings, killer. Us vertically challenged folk can be pretty sensitive. After all, the--wait. Three? There's a whole three secrets to good growth?

Two or three but one of them might be a lie. And some of them are really well-kept, I only know one of them myself.

And just what's a girl gotta do to get in one one of these secrets?

Hmm. [And then mock-serious consideration before she holds up one finger-] Well first, probably an oath of loyalty to someone, right? That's how these sorts of things usually go down.

Sounds like a trap, but I'll play along. Just what kind of an oath are we talking, here? Bible-swearing? Or more the sword-blade-to-shoulder thing. Blood pacts are out, though. I tend to draw the line at bodily fluids.

[Because that's not a morbid kind of joke. Buffy still delivers it with a smile and steps jauntily into Seventh Heaven.]

[Not like Heart has a morality core to see anything wrong with it. Thus, she laughs before going on without missing a beat-] Well I was thinking something like sacrificing a finger, but if blood pacts are out I'm sure ritual amputation's a bust too, right?

Hey. I need these fingers. [She wiggles them, laughing.] They're integral to saving the world.

World? Gee-golly, Buff, are you a caped crusader or something? [Doing her best to sound like a generic person from the 40s or something. That bright-eyed earnest thing. But after that she giggles again before waving a hand] Well then, how about settling for a kiss of loyalty? [she means on the hand, but hey, she'll leave it vague]

Something like that. Minus the cape or the spandex or the genuine crusading. [Any other qualification that she might of put upon her role back home is interrupted by the request. Buffy responds initially with a slow, hesitant smile.]

A couple of months ago there was a pretty wacky love spell. I think I'm off the kisses for the foreseeable future. [Except for late night surprise smooches with Spike, apparently.] I can offer you something in a nice hug of loyalty, though.

[And briefly Heart puts on a full blown SADFAICE complete with a lip wibble which is probably mostly all a joke]

[And then she beams before laughing-] Alright! Then before we make you just that much more stunted, let's see what you got on the hugging front]

[Buffy reaches out to the taller girl with the gloss of awkwardness that comes with a planned gesture. Impromptu hugs were fine. She could do those with her eyes closed (and often did because, God, that's just what you do in a hug.

Strangely, despite her shorter height, Buffy attempts to take the dominant role of the hug. That is, she engages some tippy-toe action and tries to reach her arms around the exterior of the hug--tugging Heart into a friendly embrace.]

[Oh wow, she actually did it. Somehow Heart wasn't expecting this, so she finds herself blushing in spite of herself. She wraps her arms around too to hold it for a few seconds... and then release. It's a regrettable release as far as she's concerned, but all the same friendly hugs have time limits, right?]

So, how does it rate on the hug scale?

[Being a bit of an airhead by times, Buffy is blind to the potential meanings of the blush.] Because, I for one? Think it was totally worth a growth secret.

[...Blink once before she smirks again and-] Nine point five, I'd say, so he'll second that. Well then, in that case... [She waves a little finger] Milk!
